Purpose

The Maintenance Team is responsible for the reliability and maintenance of all manufacturing equipment and systems. The Team collaborates with Engineering and Operations to ensure that the manufacturing operations run safely, producing quality vitamins efficiently in a 24 hour operation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Support and assist with preventative and corrective maintenance schedules, responding to production requests as necessary.
Repairs and maintains production equipment (valve replacement, conveyor bearing and chain replacement, motor/gearbox replacement, lube routes, cam replacement, etc.) in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operations manuals
Report safety and operational hazards to the Maintenance Manager and generate follow-up work orders for resolution.
Document all equipment repairs using CMMS.
Promote safety and environmental practices while ensuring proper care and maintenance of tools and supplies.
Conduct regular checks of plant equipment on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.
Assist in the development of maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Maintain cleaning and sanitation standards in maintenance areas in line with plant quality requirements.
Ensure the upkeep of all facility equipment, including building, production, and utility systems, with minimal supervision.
Identify and implement corrective actions for equipment failures independently.
Manage and oversee outside service contractors performing maintenance tasks at MegaFood facilities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all work areas.
Comply with industry safety regulations, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Effectively manage time and meet project deadlines.
Be available for overtime as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
Relevant maintenance certifications are a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to identify mechanical and electrical defects in equipment.
Effective time management and coordination skills when working with team members.
Basic electrical knowledge.
Familiarity with automation and control systems in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs (Allen Bradley) and motor drives.
Experience in using and maintaining hand and power tools; machining, fabrication, and welding skills are a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Capacity to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and P&IDs.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
Capability to understand and follow standard operating procedures from both verbal and written instructions.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, crouch, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform overhead work.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Good interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork.
Proficient in computer applications (Office Suite, Excel, Word, Outlook) and CMMS or ERP systems.
